Greyskymorning // Brewyard Coffee

My one week break starts tomorrow hooray! So glad that I can finally take a break and maybe have some me time. I've been doing some thinking and I would really love if you guys could give me some feedback! I'd be really thankful if you readers could go to the poll at the side of my blog and help vote for what you would like me to update more on. Yes do it now! It won't even take you 5 minutes hehe.

Ok moving on, this week I did a bit of cafe hopping. Went to Greyskymorning which is actually a little cafe within the EX8 complex. And let me tell you, the red velvet cake there is really the best I've ever had. I'm really not a big fan of anything red velvet (I think I've mentioned this before in my previous blog posts) but the cake was so moist and the cream cheese didn't leave that greasy sicky feeling in my mouth. I'll let the pictures do the talking now :)

I love how the cafe was decorated with pretty fresh flowers.

Crepe cakes which we didn't try. But I definitely will the next time.

Banana chocolate chip.

Red Velvet.

Hazelnut Nutella.

Upstairs balcony.

Also lunched at Brew Yard Coffee which is in SS15 Subang with the boyfriend and uni mates the other day.

Cranberry Juice which was a little too sweet for my liking.

Chai Latte. Not the best I've tried but it was alright.

Calamari Aglio Olio. If you're not a fan of spicy food then this isn't for you.

Turkey Roll.

Beef Bacon Egg Benedict. Not bad I must say and only for RM16.

Fried Mars Bars was just so-so.

Nutella brownie with Vanilla ice-cream.

Lemon Cheese Cake. I loved the texture! Yummy but I didn't like the fact they put chocolate sauce on it :(

I love green tea so match(a) ♥

I've been craving all things matcha for quite a while now. I'm sure you guys know what matcha is. If you don't, this is for you.

Basically, matcha is green tea. Matcha has this amazing distinct flavour and it also has so many health benefits which is an added bonus. Some of the benefits include burning calories, detoxifying the body and it's high in antioxidants which is grrreeat! I even have a matcha cupcake recipe for you guys that I'll be sharing today. It's so simple cause I used the cheat method hehe which is premixed cake from the box. I usually make my cupcakes from scratch but JY brought along the premix during our baking adventure so we decided to just use it anyway.

Recipe for green tea cupcakes
What you'll need :
> White cake premix (we used Duncan Hines Classic white)
> Additional ingredients which is stated on the box
> Matcha powder (which you can get at any Japanese super market/mart)
> Cupcake baking cups

Just follow the instructions on the back of the box. Also remember to add however much matcha powder you like into the batter. When you're done mixing in the matcha powder, fill into the baking cups & put into the oven. Make sure to follow the baking duration+temperature for cupcakes instead of the one needed to bake a whole cake.

Recipe for the green tea frosting
Ingredients:
> 113g butter, at room temperature
> 3 cups icing sugar,
> 3 to 5 tablespoons milk
> Matcha powder

Instructions:
1. Place the butter in a large mixing bowl. Blend with an electric mixer on low speed until fluffy, 30 seconds. Stop the machine and add the confectioners' sugar, 3 tablespoons of the milk, and the matcha powder.

2. Blend with the mixer on low speed until the sugar is incorporated, 1 minute. Increase the speed to medium and beat until light and fluffy, 1 minute more. Add up to 1 tablespoon more milk if the frosting seems too stiff.

Makes 2 1/2 cups, enough to frost 24 cupcakes.

I hope you'll enjoy baking and eating this as much as I did with JY & Sherr :) It really was so simple and yummy.
Also, my potato finally took me to try Nana's Green Tea after much whining heheh. Happy girl, I was!

Had to queue for seats.

Soft serve ice-cream with Adzuki red bean paste, mochi, green tea jelly and syrup

Matcha Nama Chocolate Parfait

Uji-matcha

Satisfied face after finishing all the deserts. Hehe, I can imagine Sherr saying "fei hai" when I look at this photo.

I'm definitely coming back here again to try the rest of the food. I even saw mentaiko udon or something like that in the menu. Ugh I'm dying inside just thinking about it right now. Everything was really good and slightly pricey but it's okay cause my love for green tea is infinite.

Before I end this post, I just wanna tell everyone that it was Sherr's birthday on the 8th and we celebrated it today at Morganfields. So much meat that I thought I was gonna go into cardiac arrest, no joke. Anyways, here's a bad photo taken by a stranger. I look extra midgety here!!! (I'm really taller than the birthday girl irl ok)

Happy birthday Sherr!
I'm so grateful to have you in my life and thankyou for being the little annoying sister I never had. To many more years of birthday celebrations like such and many more years of friendship. Hope you had fun. We love you.

That's all for tonight guys. Heading to bed now :)
Till next time! x

Post Econs paper celebration @ Fiq's Gastronomy

I know it's been a while since I've last updated. I'm really sorry to those who actually keep up with my blog :((. I've been busy preparing for midterms and I haven't had much time to spare. But no worries, I'm here now! And in a jolly good mood too because my Economics paper is over and done with which is a great reason to celebrate (which I actually did). I felt like a burden was lifted off my shoulders as of today. So so glad! Just a few more subjects to go.

So anyway, my friends and I went to Fiq's Gastronomy to celebrate after our paper today! Thought our tummy deserved some good, happy food which is exactly what our tummy got.

Very cosy looking interior.

Just Ning being weird and shit.

My virgin mojito & Ning's strawberry cooler in the background.

Spinach Risotto

Salted Beef Fettucine

Roasted Chicken

And dessert. Cause there's ALWAYS room for dessert...or maybe even three..

Some more S'mores please!

Granita

Baked Alaska

Really enjoyed the food and company. There was four of us and the bill came up to a hundred and eighty four dollars. But the portions were big and taste was good so I would definitely come back again when I have more cash haha. The desserts were so damn satisfying as well. I can't even. Oh, and did I mention that their service was good too?

On another note, for those who don't follow me on Instagram,  I changed my hair color again! A few weeks back actually.

From this..

To this!

Yeap, I'm a redhead again. Thought I needed a change but honestly though, I still miss my ombre blonde hair. But a bit of change is good right? :))

Till next time! x.
